Project to strengthen capacities in the implementation of the Minamata Convention in Ecuador

The project will support the identification of significant sources of emissions and releases of mercury, analyze mercury concentrations in water, air, soil, and sediments, and assess optimization of relevant existing processes, technologies and infrastructures available in Ecuador. These activities will lead to the development of an action plan that includes management strategies and proposals to strengthen the legal framework for the implementation of effective control measures and tools through inter-institutional or sectorial coordination and cooperation.
