On 25 September 2017, the Governments of Argentina and Croatia deposited their instruments of ratification, thereby becoming the 82nd and 83rd Parties to the Convention.

The new website for the first Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention on Mercury (COP-1) is now available. COP-1 will take place from 24 to 29 September 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.
