The secretariat is pleased to announce that the Minamata Convention Specific International Programme has received support from Austria,Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The new website for the first Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention on Mercury (COP-1) is now available. COP-1 will take place from 24 to 29 September 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Government of the People's Republic of China, becoming the 30th Party to the Minamata Convention, is celebrating the entry into force of the Minamata Convention. As part of the celebrations a workshop focusing on the medical devices sector is also convening in Beijing.
The Minamata Convention on Mercury entered into force on 16 August 2017. The first Conference of the Parties will take place from 24 to 29 September 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.
